Citibank Credit Cards
P.O. Box 6500
Sioux Falls, SD 57117
To Whom It May Concern:
Please close my credit card, effective immediately. My card number ends in xxxx. The reason is that you pay for your employees to procure abortions, and more than that, to go around state laws and kill their children in other states.
This is not a temporary boycott of Citi, and I am not with any organization. Citibank provided my first credit card when I was in college, probably around 1996. It has been the one credit card that I have kept these 26 years. And yet my conscience simply will not allow me to voluntarily give any further profits to fund the dismembering of babies in the womb, only to be tossed aside in a bag, like so much refuse.
To be honest to your position, I suppose you would say that you do this to “protect women.” But which women? Only those that work for you? Not those physically attached to those that work for you? By what standard do you make such a distinction?
I am grateful that, because of the death of Jesus Christ, I am forgiven for contributing, if only in a small way, to your pursuit of the genocide of the most defenseless. I implore whoever might read this to seek the same.
Sincerely,
Jed Brown
Of course, there may be other corporations that I do business with that do the same thing. I’m writing this on an Apple product, a company with no compunction about ignoring atrocities in China to keep the profits coming. But on the other hand, when one can do something, and conscience provokes, it’s healthy for the soul not to talk oneself out of it.
Besides, Dave Ramsey told me I shoulda done this a long time ago. He was right.
To learn more, read the Washington Examiner’s account here. The article mentions that the CEO wants to make Citi a corporation “with a soul.” The truth is that only people have souls, of course. And as we saw in our American Civil War, such sins are only truly “solved” by God granting us repentance through the stick or the carrot: through the wrath of open war, or the revival of the people. I pray for the latter.
And in the waiting, God grant us grace to do our part.
